Oria rises above the countryside between Taranto and Brindisi. Its lanes climb towards the cathedral and the imposing castle that defines the town from a distance.
It works well as a relaxed half-day visit: arrive without a rigid route, walk through the historic centre and pause at the viewpoints around the upper town.
