Coastal Watchtower
The square defensive tower recalls the historic network built to watch over the Ionian coastline.
MAPA historic watchtower between open sea, beach and salt marsh.
About 12 km
Approximately 16 min by car
The sixteenth-century tower gives this stretch of coastline a clear focal point. Around it, sandy beach, low buildings and the nearby salt marsh create a distinctly open landscape.
It combines naturally with Salina dei Monaci, but also works as a simple coastal stop later in the day when the light softens.
